Ravi Kishan files FIR on alleged defamatory campaign; MP accused of trying to tarnish his image
According to reports, Ravi Kishan’s complaint states that the statements being circulated are derogatory in nature and have no factual basis. The actor-politician has accused unknown individuals or groups of running a campaign to malign his reputation socially and politically. He has also urged the authorities to conduct a strict and impartial investigation into the matter.
According to the FIR lodged by the police and quoted by ANI, “The individual or group is circulating highly objectionable, false, misleading and defamatory statements against the MP publicly in the entire Gorakhpur area. These actions are being taken with the specific intention of causing serious harm to his social standing, political image and personal reputation.”
In the complaint, the allegations being spread against the MP have been described as baseless and misleading. “The objective behind these statements is to tarnish the image of Ravi Kishan in the eyes of the public and create a malicious atmosphere against him. The purpose of the false stories being spread is to completely defame the MP politically and socially by undermining his credibility,” the complaint said.
Reports also suggest that Ravi Kishan has termed the campaign as “pre-planned”, claiming that comments and narratives have been widely circulated on social media platforms. The actor-politician is said to have stressed the importance of preventing such defamatory campaigns from gaining momentum in the future and demanded strict legal action against those involved.
Given Ravi Kishan’s dual identity as both a public representative and a film personality, this development has sparked much discussion in the political and entertainment circles alike. Over the years, the actor has maintained a significant presence in Bhojpuri cinema as well as mainstream Hindi films while building his political career.
On the professional front, Ravi Kishan was recently seen attending the trailer launch of the upcoming Netflix film mother sister. The much-awaited project stars Madhuri Dixit, Trupti Dimri and Darna Durga in lead roles and has created a buzz even before its release.
