In a shocking case of alleged theft from actress Raveena Tandon’s family, Mumbai Police has arrested a 47-year-old caregiver, identified as Rashi Chhabria, who allegedly stole jewelery and luxury goods worth around Rs. Rs 25 lakh from the house of actor’s mother Veena Tandon and brother Rajeev Tandon.

According to reports, Chhabria was appointed to the Tandon family since 2020 as the primary caregiver of Veena Tandon, who is 86. Over the years, she had reportedly earned the trust of the family and was granted access to many areas of the residence, including private sections that were not easily accessible to others.
The alleged theft came to light last year during the Dussehra festival when family members noticed that several valuables were missing. These reportedly included gold and diamond jewelery like bangles, earrings, mangalsutra, as well as expensive watches belonging to Rajeev Tandon. The total value of the missing items is estimated to be around Rs. 25 lakhs.
Following the discovery, Rajeev Tandon filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police and initiated efforts to trace the missing valuables. During the investigation, suspicion reportedly fell on Chhabria. Initial interrogation yielded no breakthrough, as the accused reportedly refused to be involved in the case.
However, as investigators gathered additional evidence, the case took a significant turn. Police later arrested Chhabria in connection with the alleged theft. Reports suggest that investigators believe the accused may have broken into a locker within the residence before removing valuables.
Mumbai Police has recovered a part of the missing jewelery and luxury goods. Authorities are continuing their investigation to locate and recover the remaining items and to determine whether any additional individuals may be involved in the alleged crime.
The incident has attracted a lot of attention given the long-standing relationship between the accused and the Tandon family. As the investigation progresses, authorities hope to gather more evidence about the extent of the alleged theft and the whereabouts of the remaining valuables.
