Responding to those comments, producer Amit Jani announced that legal action has been initiated against the actor. Taking to Twitter, Jani wrote, “Legal notice served to Govind Namdev. Public apology within 7 days and Rs 50 lakh fine to the production house; other legal proceedings to be taken.”

According to his legal team, the film unlawfully exploits his personality and publicity rights for commercial gain. One of the concerns raised is related to posters that show a character resembling Khan holding a gun, despite the actor being acquitted in an Arms Act case.
Khan’s lawyers have further argued that any cinematic depiction of cases still under legal consideration could influence public perception about the ongoing proceedings related to the black buck case.
Delhi High Court has issued a formal notice to the film producers and sought their response.
