A scary turn after pack up

A statement issued by actress Sudeepa Chatterjee and filmmaker-producer Agnidev Chatterjee revealed that Sharma was chatting with local technicians in an area surrounded by dense vegetation after pack up, when he felt what he thought was an insect bite, possibly an insect or poisonous spider.

Since the bite did not initially appear serious, he did not seek immediate medical attention. However, about six hours later, he reportedly started having severe pain in his right leg and started feeling unwell.

Despite his deteriorating condition, Sharma boarded a flight to Kolkata. During the journey, he developed a high fever, became increasingly restless, and his health deteriorated further. The next day he was admitted to a private hospital in South Kolkata.

Infection spreads, doctors monitor complications

According to the statement, Sharma is suffering from high fever, shortness of breath and a rapidly growing infection in his right leg. The infection has reportedly spread from her toes to her knee, and large blisters have developed on the affected area. Dr. Avijit Bhattacharya said that it is too early to make any definite assessment of his condition.

It is said that Sharma is under strict surveillance and is not out of danger yet. Doctors are monitoring him for possible complications, including the risk of a blood clot that could become life-threatening if it travels to the lungs. The hospital team is carrying out necessary investigations and treatment, with further medical updates expected once the official assessment is released.

Sudeepa and Agnidev also expressed their gratitude to those who extended support, saying, “We sincerely thank everyone for their love, prayers and support, especially the media, Bengal Motion Pictures Artistes Forum, Rajesh’s friends and well-wishers and above all, Mr. Prosenjit Chatterjee, who has been a constant source of guidance and support during these difficult times.”

As Sharma’s treatment continues, well-wishers from across the industry are hoping for a speedy and complete recovery.
