On July 22, on social media, Amaal thanked listeners for the response to the song and urged viewers to take time before forming an opinion. He wrote, “Thank you for giving such a wonderful response to a tune that is closest to my heart. Every song needs time to breathe, get into the system and then reach and stay in the hearts of the audience.”

In the same note, the composer claimed that rival groups were attempting to harm the film’s prospects. He alleged, “Heavily paid PR is being run by rival elements of the film industry who do not want the film or the soundtrack to do well.”
Amaal said such efforts will not impact the audience’s engagement with the music. Addressing those accusing him of running a campaign, he wrote, “Please save your money for your next films, who knows what will happen tomorrow. You can waste all your money attacking my song and my film but if you do not save any of it, you will not be able to save your own films.”

The composer also emphasized the comparisons between vagrancy 2 and music from the 2007 film AwarapanWhich has gained cult status among fans for a long time.
Explaining the background of the original album, Amaal said that the songs from the first film were adaptations of independent tracks from artists including Mustafa Zahid, Rafaqat Ali Khan and Annie, which were recreated by Pritam for the film. He wrote, “So this ends the debate of it being an original album, it has been well adapted by Pritam and that is the whole truth.”
He also acknowledged the legacy of the original artists, saying, “We can’t do what Mustafa Zahid did, and we don’t want to touch or tarnish his legacy either.”
