As per previous reports by Hotterfly, Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt were planning an intimate court wedding on July 5. Although the actor did not reveal any details about the ceremony, he has confirmed the reports. Speaking to Variety India, Aamir said, “The news of the wedding is true. It is on July 5.”
The confirmation marks an important milestone in the actor’s relationship with Gauri, whom he introduced publicly earlier this year. On the occasion of his 60th birthday, Aamir surprised his fans by telling them that he has found love again. However, at the time he said that there were no wedding plans and that he preferred to focus on the relationship rather than future plans.
Over the past few months, the actor has opened up about how his perspective on companionship evolved after his separation from filmmaker Kiran Rao. During an appearance on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Aamir reflected on the emotional journey that led him to Gauri. He had shared, “Before I met Gauri, I felt like I was old and who would I find at this age. Also, my therapy started and I understood that I need to love myself first and make myself healthy. So, I worked on that.”
The actor also revealed how the relationship evolved unexpectedly. He said, “Gauri and I met by accident and we connected and we became friends, and fell in love. I thought I have my mother, children, siblings – I have such close relationships that I don’t need a partner.”
Aamir Khan’s first marriage was with Reena Dutta, with whom he has two children, Junaid Khan and Ira Khan. After their separation, the actor married film producer Kiran Rao in 2005. The couple announced their separation in 2021, but have maintained an cordial relationship and co-parent their son Azad.
