Abhijeet Bhattacharya urges Indian government for safe return of his son Jai from Dubai, later deletes post
Describing the situation as an “incredibly distressing time” for the family, Abhijeet wrote, “My son Jai Bhattacharya is currently stuck in Dubai, and as a father, this is an incredibly distressing time for our family. I sincerely request the Government of India and the Ministry of External Affairs to please take note of his situation and help ensure his safe return to India as soon as possible. We are looking forward to your immediate support and intervention. Please help bring him home safely. @narendramodi@meaindia @moka_goi @amitshahofficial @jaybhattacharya_@airindia @emirates @indigo.6e @spicejetairlines.”
However, Abhijeet later deleted the post.
The appeal comes at a time when the region has seen a serious military escalation. On 28 February, Israel launched “preventive” missile strikes on Iran, causing massive explosions in Tehran. Several missiles reportedly hit University Street and nearby areas in the Jomhouri district of the Iranian capital. The attacks have further escalated tensions between Israel and Iran, amid current tensions involving the United States over a potential nuclear deal.
Over the past two years, the long-running shadow conflict between Israel and Iran has escalated into a direct military confrontation, including airstrikes and missile attacks. Earlier this week, Israeli warplanes also carried out airstrikes in Beirut’s southern suburbs following rocket attacks from Lebanese territory.
