The actress of Malayalam Navya Nair recently seized all the eyeballs after being sentenced to a fine around 1,980 AUD (approximately RS 1.14 Lakh) at Melbourne International Airport for having won a Jasmine Gajra. It is reported that she did not declare it to the Australian customs. Now in an interview, ACRESS revealed that it had asked the Australian agricultural department asking that the fine be canceled.

Speaking to HT City of Singapore, Navya Nair expressed that she was shocked to be sentenced to a fine, because it is an important penalty. The actress revealed that she was not wearing flowers in her bag, but it was in her hair. “So it was nothing hidden, but I didn’t say it because I missed it. They mentioned that parts of plants and flowers are included. The sniff dogs sniffed it because I had kept the flowers in my bag at the start of my trip,” she added.
Now Navya has contacted the Australian agricultural department by mail and asked to give up the penalty. Nair added that she had 28 days to make the payment, and the authorities told her to send all these details to the agriculture department. She sent them the same night and is now waiting for an answer.
“I asked them to give up the amount, and if they do not give up, then I have read in many items that they charge 300 dollars, and they billed Aud 1980, and it is written 6 units, so I don’t know what it is. As a foreigner, I had no idea, ”explains the actor.
Navya Nair wants this problem to have become so large. She also said that it was the law of the country, and she will have to respect this and has no other option. She also added that for humanitarian land, the officers could simply have taken the flowers and keep them with them. They could have let her go without fine, because she had no intention. She also revealed that it had taken her a long time to go through the process and get out of the airport to enter Melbourne, where she had gone to attend onam celebrations organized by the Malayali Association of Victoria.
