Filmmaker Aditya Dhar issued a clarification on Instagram addressing the spread of manipulated scenes related to his film Dhurandhar: Revenge. The director took to Instagram to warn viewers about AI-generated misinformation being spread using promotional material modified from the film.

In his statement, Dhar expressed his gratitude for the reception of the film, saying, “I am deeply grateful and indebted for the tremendous love that has been shown to me.” extreme revenge received from audiences across the country and the world.” However, he expressed concern over some fabricated images circulating online, which he said misrepresent the content of the film.
Highlighting a specific example, Dhar said, “One such fabricated image falsely depicts the character of Hamza/Jaskirat wearing a turban and smoking. This is completely false and is not a part of the film or any official material released by us. It is a deliberate act of misrepresentation with the intention to provoke and create mischief.”
He emphasized his stance on cultural sensitivity, saying, “Let me say this clearly: I have the utmost respect for the Sikh community, and every portrayal in the film has been handled with the utmost sensitivity, dignity and responsibility.” Dhar described the dissemination of such doctored content as “malicious and dishonest”.
He urged audiences to verify information, saying, “I urge audiences to only trust official content and watch the film as it is intended, and not fall victim to AI-generated misinformation being disseminated with ulterior motives.” He also warned that such actions will not be taken lightly and said, “Such actions will be dealt with sternly.”
The clarification comes amid growing concerns within the film industry over changes in promotional material and misuse of artificial intelligence to create misleading stories. Dhar’s statement is intended to reassure audiences while reinforcing the importance of trusting verified sources.
