As the death of television actress Sanchita Ugle has sent a massive shock through the entertainment industry, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has now demanded a high-level inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Sanchita Ugle, known for her work in television shows like Kumkum Bhagya and Wagle Ki Duniya, died at her residence in Nalasopara East, Maharashtra on June 14. She was reportedly found at her home in Sai Santoshi Building in Achole village and was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
In the wake of the tragedy, AICWA President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta issued a statement urging Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to order a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the death of the actress.
The association said the circumstances surrounding the incident require a thorough investigation and every possible angle should be examined before reaching any conclusion. AICWA emphasized that many questions often remain unanswered in high-profile deaths within the entertainment industry and stressed the need for transparency in the current case.
In its statement, the association expressed grief over the demise of the young actress and highlighted her contribution to the entertainment industry. AICWA also cited a social media post shared by the actress shortly before news of her death broke, and reiterated its demand that investigators examine all available evidence and circumstances related to the case.
Beyond the ongoing investigation, the association called on the Maharashtra government to set up a dedicated committee to study the rising number of deaths and mental health concerns within the entertainment industry. It urged authorities to review the support systems available to artistes and industry workers.
The organization expressed its condolences to Sanchita Ugle’s family and said it will stand with their loved ones to get answers. As the investigation continues, the police are expected to investigate all aspects of the case and await further findings from the inquiry.
According to police officials, the actress’s father Machindra Ugale had filed a complaint and the Achole police had registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) under section 194 of the Indian Civil Defense Code (BNSS) on June 15. Authorities have carried out the necessary legal procedures, and a post-mortem examination has been carried out as part of the ongoing investigation.
Sanchita Ugle is remembered by colleagues and audiences as a promising young artist whose career was steadily gaining momentum in television and film projects.
