Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court to protect her publicity and personality rights, objecting to the unauthorized use of her names, paintings and identity in various platforms and products. The argument highlights issues of online circulation of commercial abuse, misleading illustration and porn, converted images.

Justice Tejas Karia heard the matter, acknowledged the seriousness of the allegations and indicated a desire to issue prohibitory orders to prevent further misuse. The case is scheduled for the next hearing on 15 January 2026.
Representing Rai, senior advocate Sandeep Sethi informed the court that his identity was being exploited extensively for commercial benefits and misleading propagation. He claimed the websites to be an official platform and referred to unauthorized goods such as Mug, T-shirt, and drinks as characteristic of their name and image.
Seth gave an example of misuse involving a company called Aishwarya Nation Wealth, which declared Rai as his president in the official record. He clarified that the actor had no connection with the firm and painted the act as fraud and illegal.
Sethi also expressed concern about the online proliferation of the actor’s converted images, given that the obscene, converted and AI-related scenes of Rai were being operated. He described it as a serious violation of his dignity and rights, emphasizing that “his equality was being sexually exploited for clear objectives” and underlining the deep disturbed nature of such materials.
Looking at Google, Advocate Mamta Rani said that the material can be removed only on presenting specific URLs. Justice Karia said that although a consolidated order would be better, comprehensive requests from the petitioner may require separate prohibition against each defendant. The court further clarified that the plaintiff could either provide a personal URL for Techdown or seek relief under the blocked and screening instructions (BSI) framework.
