The makers of Akhand 2 have officially announced the new release date. Since the film is now scheduled to premiere on December 5 this year, it is just 50 days away from its big screen release.

Marking the countdown, the team shared a post that read, “In 50 days, you will all see the blockbuster Thandavam on the big screens. A divine peak like never before. #Akhanda2 in theaters worldwide from 5th December.”

Originally, Akhand 2 was expected to release on September 25, 2025, coinciding with Dussehra. However, due to delays in post-production, the makers had to postpone the release.

About Akhand 2

Akhand 2 – Thandavam is an action drama directed and co-written by Boyapati Srinu. The film stars Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role of an Aghor who uses his divine powers to fight evil and save the world.

The film is the sequel to Balakrishna’s 2021 blockbuster Akhanda and stars Samyuktha and Aadhi Pinisetty in the lead roles.

In the original Akhand, NBK played dual roles, including the role of Murali Krishna, a farmer who opposes a corrupt copper mining company. When he confronts the villain Boss and a fake Aghora, the story takes a divine turn as his twin brother Akhand, a powerful real Aghora, returns to fight injustice.

Although the film was a massive box-office success, it received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike.

Featuring Bobby Deol as the main antagonist, the film also stars Pragya Jaiswal, Shraddha Srinath, Sachin Khedekar, Makrand Deshpande, Urvashi Rautela and others in pivotal roles.

Looking ahead, Nandamuri Balakrishna is expected to be seen in a cameo role in the upcoming Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2.
