Akshay Kumar recently made a powerful and emotional appeal while speaking at an awareness program on cyber crime organized in collaboration with Mumbai Police. The actor, who has always supported social causes, spoke openly about the increasing threats of cyber crimes and the immediate need to educate children about online security.

During his speech, Akshay shared a disturbing personal experience that reached close to the house. The actor revealed that his young daughter, Nitara, was the target of online oppression while playing video games once. Recalling the incident, Akshay said, “I would like to tell you all a small incident that took place at my house a few months ago. My daughter was playing a video game, and there are some video games that you can play with someone”.
He said, “You are playing with an unknown stranger. When you are playing, sometimes a message comes … then a message came, ‘Are you a man or a woman?” So he replied to the woman and then she sent a message, ‘Can you send me nude photos?’ This was my daughter.
The actor highlighted that such incidents are far more common than people, especially among children and teenagers who spend important time online. He explained how predators often used mercy and casual conversation as a mesh before revealing their real intentions. “This is how things begin. It is also a part of cyber crime …” Akshay said with anxiety.
In a heartfelt appeal to officers and spectators, Akshay urged for systemic awareness programs in schools. “I would request the Chief Minister that in our state of Maharashtra, in the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth standards every week, there should be a period called cyber period where children should be explained about it. You all know that this crime is growing bigger than road crime. It is very important to stop this crime …” He said.
Akshay’s emotional address not only underlined the rising risk of digital offenses against minors, but also reflected his active stance as a parent and citizen.
The initiative of the actor supported by the Mumbai Police aims to spread awareness about various forms of cybercrime and empower both children and parents to identify and report online threats.
