According to reports, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle Khanna were involved in a multi-vehicle road accident in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Monday evening, however both of them emerged safely and helped others present at the spot. The incident occurred when the couple was returning from the airport to their Juhu residence after a trip abroad, where they were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. The incidents resulted from a three-vehicle serial collision near the Silver Beach Cafe area.
Akshay Kumar’s convoy collides with vehicle in Juhu
Local reports and eyewitnesses described how a speeding Mercedes first hit an auto-rickshaw, causing it to ram into one of the vehicles of Kumar’s security convoy. The vehicle then collided with the actor’s SUV, causing extensive damage to the autorickshaw. While Kumar and Khanna were traveling in a separate car ahead of the convoy and were reportedly safe without any serious injuries, onlookers said the accident caused panic among passers-by. Several spectators and security personnel were immediately on the scene.
Police and emergency responders arrived at the scene immediately after the accident. The auto-rickshaw driver and passenger were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, with some sources saying the driver’s condition was critical. Juhu police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the Mercedes driver and investigation is underway.
