Prime Video has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming Prime Original action-drama SubedarTitled by Anil Kapoor. The film stars Anil Kapoor as Subedar Arjun Maurya, a retired army officer living in the rugged terrain of India, where illegal sand mining has created an environment of fear and silence. The story chronicles Arjun’s confrontation with the prince, played by Aditya Rawal, while also highlighting his strained relationship with his daughter Shyama, played by Radhika Madan. The cast includes Mona Singh, Saurabh Shukla, Faisal Malik and Khushboo Sundar in lead roles.

The trailer hints at a tense confrontation between Arjun and his opponents, with the emotional core lying in a father-daughter dynamic. One of the standout moments features Anil Kapoor saying the line, “Fauji hai, seene mein goli jheel ke liye, beeijjaati nahi.” The film bills itself as a blend of action and personal drama set against the backdrop of socio-political conflict.

Director Suresh Triveni described the film as an homage to the mainstream cinema he grew up watching and highlights the father-daughter relationship at its core. He also said that the film explores the challenges of a retired soldier adjusting to civilian life while still holding on to his values.
With a mix of action and emotional conflict, Subedar It is billed as a character-driven drama set against a volatile backdrop, which is set to stream on Prime Video from March 5.
