On Tuesday, the Abhoomtia Entertainment and Collective Media Network announced a new film on Lord Hanuman which is allegedly being fully made with Artificial Intelligence (AI). The announcement quickly shook the hot debate within the Indian film fraternity, with many filmmakers and artists looking at the lack of a human touch in creativity.
Anurag Kashyap called the AI-made Lord Hanuman film a slam, called the producers: “You should be in the gutter”
Those who expressed strong resentment, among the filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, were known for his unfiltered opinion and acclaimed works Gangs of WaspurGoing to Instagram, Kashyap shared a long note criticizing the production houses for the move and questioned the role of artist representation agencies in enabling such projects.
Kaship’s post reads, “Congratulations @vijaysubramaniam84. Here is the man who is @lifeatcollectivertistSnetwork that represents artists, writers, directors, who is now producing a film made by AI.
He continued further, “Any actor or any person who calls himself an artist and will be his back and should either question him or leave the agency as he has proved that he thinks that you are not competing for your AI performance. It is right that it is right for spinless and cowless so -called so -called artists in the Hindi film industry.
Kashyap’s explosive comments immediately received traction, many people in the industry resonated with his spirit. His long -time friend and colleague, Vikramaditya Motavane also weighed the matter. The filmmaker, who had previously directed a project to discover the impact of Artificial Intelligence and the public control, voiced his criticism through his Instagram Story. Motwen wrote, “And so it begins … which TF needs writers and directors when it is ‘made in AI’.”
The combined backlash of Kashyap and Motwen faces a major concern in the creative industry, where AI-rented art and materials are rapidly deployed as replacement for human creativity. While the production house provides hailstorm to technology as the future of filmmaking, many directors, writers and actors are afraid that this change reduces the very essence of storytelling contained in human experiences.
Along with making headlines to the controversy, the role of AI in cinema is expected to intensify the debate around, dividing the industry between innovation and authenticity.
