Assi Box Office Collection Third Friday: Taapsee Pannu’s courtroom drama hits new low, collects Rs 9 crore in 15 days

‘Assi’, directed by Anubhav Sinha and starring Taapsee Pannu in the lead, entered its third weekend with earnings of Rs. 10 lakh on Friday. There was a 33 percent decline in the film’s earnings from the previous day. The decline is about 75 percent since last Friday. As stated, the film has almost completed its entire theatrical run.

Taapsee Pannu starrer courtroom drama reaches Rs. Earned 9 crores in 15 days of theatrical performance. Assi is expected to make its box office journey around Rs. 10 crore to Rs. Nett in India 10.50 crores. The film starring Kani Kushruti, Revathi, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and others co-starring Anubhav Sinha proved to be a flop at the box office. Taapsee and Sinha’s previous film was Thappad, which collected around Rs 30 crore in its entire run.

As said, the business of such small/medium sized films has gone down severely in the post-pandemic period. Audiences now prefer to watch movies with no expectations only on digital platforms, as they now have enough patience to wait for 8 weeks. To save the dying business of small/medium sized films, producers need to break this patience and extend the OTT window by about 6 months.
