However, when BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya, the Tinmool Congress government led by Mamata Banerjee, accused the film of informally banning the film, the controversy deepened. However, the Trinumool Congress has denied any role in the non-relief of the film, insisting that the decision is only with the theater owners and multiplex operators. Party leaders have said that the government has nothing to do with this.
Saying that actress and producer Pallavi Joshi alleged that the West Bengal government, including police officers, threatened the theater owners to stop the screening. He revealed that he had formally appealed to the President of India to ensure the release of the film in the state.
