With strong trends at the box office, Dhurandhar collected approximately US$3.20 million (₹29 crore) in its opening weekend internationally. The film grossed approximately US$1.20 million on Sunday, which is comparable to Saturday, when the standard is a 20–30 percent decline. Combined with Rs. 108 crores from India, worldwide weekend earning of the film is Rs. Approximately 137 crores.
The Ranveer Singh starrer has not released in Middle Eastern markets, as is usually the case with films revolving around the India-Pakistan conflict. Releases in these regions could potentially add another 15-25 per cent to the overseas total.
About 90 percent of its overseas business came from four main markets: the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Australia and Canada were the countries with the best pre-sales and had the best starts, albeit slightly hampered by capacity. The film’s marketing based around a popular Punjabi track probably helped here. The United States and United Kingdom saw strong growth over the weekend, with Sunday’s opening up 80 percent more than the weekend before. In the US, the film fell hard on Sunday, which is a very encouraging sign for the long run.
Unlike India, where box office is not a collection but a number, which is influenced by feeding. The overseas box office is organic, and so is the trend. Aditya Dhar’s direction has been appreciated. The strong weekend trend bodes well for the film’s overall performance prospects. The US$10 million figure seems like a good, feasible goal, which was nowhere in sight when the film debuted on Friday. It will get a big vacation period at the end of the month to help, and since there is not much competition, it can make good use of it.
