No interim order was passed against the film in the latest hearing, following which producer Amit Jani had to respond publicly on social media.
Blackbuck producer Amit Jani reacts after Delhi High Court adjourns Salman Khan’s plea till July 6: “Will release in 8000 theatres”
Salman Khan has approached the Delhi High Court alleging that the proposed film violates his personality rights by making direct references to him and his personal life. The actor has objected to the film’s promotional material, claiming that it includes a picture of a man looking like him wearing his signature blue bracelet and a reference to his 1998 blackbuck hunting case as well as his alleged rivalry with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
Amit Jani’s reaction after the court hearing
Soon after Wednesday’s proceedings, producer Amit Jani shared his reaction on X, claiming that Salman Khan has not received any relief from the court.
He wrote, “Salman Khan has not got relief from Delhi High Court even today, there is no stay on the film, the hearing of the case has been adjourned till 6th July. I had said earlier also that there is no star for the court, nor does he accept any glamour, just calling himself the father of Bollywood will not stop the black buck – it will be released simultaneously in 8000 theaters and all over the world.”
Producer tells court the film has not been submitted to CBFC
During the hearing, the lawyer appearing for the producers gave this information to Justice Jyoti Singh. Blackbuck: Battle of the Legacy It has not yet been submitted to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for certification.
When the court asked whether the film was scheduled for release, the producer’s lawyer clarified that it was not. The lawyer further said that no film can be released without obtaining CBFC certification and assured the court that the producers will not approach the Censor Board before the next date of hearing.
Taking note of the submissions and noting that the producer’s rejoinder has not yet been placed on record, the court adjourned the hearing on Salman Khan’s interim injunction plea to July 6.
