Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh and starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, registered a good hold in its fourth weekend. Backed by T-Series Films and Jaypee Films, Border 2 maintained a strong hold on the fourth Sunday and collected Rs. 1.50 crore, which is about 20 percent less than Valentine’s Day.
The military action drama added Rs. 4.25 crore in the tally, taking the total to Rs. Earning Rs 300.25 crore at the box office. Based on current trends, the full performance of Border 2 will be Rs. Expected to be finished around. 305 crore nett in India. This is a good addition, however, expectations were very high due to the box office frenzy of Gadar 2.
Although the film performed well over the weekend, it recorded normal trends on weekdays. Nevertheless, Border 2 emerged as a clean hit venture. At one point, it even showed potential to become a super hit or blockbuster, but its general weekday trend limited its box office expectations.
The film has performed better in the northern circuits, where Rajasthan is close to a blockbuster, while Delhi-UP and East Punjab have done super hit business. Poor performance has come to light in Gujarat and Central Circuit of CPCI, due to which Sunny Deol’s film could have been expected to perform strongly, but it did not happen.
