Box Office: Ek Deewane Ki Diwaniyat sold 5000 tickets in national chains, Harshvardhan Rane’s film aims for a good start.

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat sold around 5,000 tickets across top national chains, PVR Inox and Cinepolis till 7 pm (October 18). The film has had a very limited run in national chains, yet it is registering good sales. The tragic romantic drama starring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa is expected to fetch around 25,000 to 30,000 tickets in the top chains, unless there is a big surge on Monday.

Apart from the top multiplex chains, the film is also creating strong buzz in the regions where two surprise blockbusters this year, Sanam Teri Kasam (re-release) and Syara, raked in huge collections. The film is performing better in other non-national chains, even seeing better sales than its rival release Thamma in some places. Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is a small center film and these centers are hit the hardest during pre-Diwali, so that’s also a factor here.

Directed by Milan Milap Zaveri, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat aims to get off to a good start despite the clashes. As per IHNS Predictions, it is expected to open around Rs. 7 crore to Rs. 10 crores collection, which is a great start for Harshvardhan Rane’s film. However, the opening day figures will largely depend on spot bookings and initial word-of-mouth. If the film is successful in attracting the audience well, it will see an immediate increase in sales throughout the day.

The box office clash with Thamma will definitely have an impact. However, Diwali is such a big festive time that multiple movies can exist together and make for an enjoyable weekend.
