Kantara: Chapter 1 witnessed a slow growth on its third Saturday, collecting Rs. 3.75 crore nett. A better bounce was expected today. The reason behind this nominal jump is the pre-Diwali festivities. The film will now end in its third weekend at Rs. The figure of 10 crores. Kantara: Chapter 1’s total collection has reached Rs 160.75 crore at the Hindi box office.
The Rishabh Shetty starrer will now need to display strong trends on the day of Lakshmi Puja, competing with Thamma and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, to reach the Rs 200 crore mark in Hindi. Otherwise, it would be around Rs. 180 – 190 crores nett.
The film may not have performed as well as other South Indian breakout sequels like Baahubali 2, KGF Chapter 2 and Pushpa 2, but it still did a commendable job. At one point it seemed like the mythological epic saga would end up costing around Rs 150 crore; However, it raised expectations with promising trends. It is now on its way to surpass the lifetime earnings of Raid 2, Sitare Zameen Par, Housefull 5 and War 2.
