Cillian Murphy cleaned the tunes on the rumors of his casting in the next Harry Potter series. The actor admitted that he would not play the role of Voldemort, originally described by Ralph Fiennes in the film franchise.
The laureate star of an Oscar joined Josh Horowitz in the last episode of his podcast, Happy Sad Confused, where he shared that his children are trying to make him watch the Wizard films from time to time, but he has not yet been sitting there.
The Oppenheimer star also showed his respect for Ralph Fiennes, because he said it was difficult to fill the shoes of the man who is an “legend of absolute actor”.
Cillian Murphy not to play Voldemort in the Harry Potter series of HBO?
Reacting to the rumors of the actor playing the role of Voldemort in the Harry Potter series, Cillian Murphy said: “No. No. really – I mean that my children show me from time to time, but I don’t know about this.” He added: “In addition, it is really difficult to follow everything that Ralph Fiennes does. Man is an absolute interim legend. So good luck to the one who will fill these shoes.”
The host of the Podcast then joked by saying that if the movie star took the character, he should lose his “beautiful nose”. To this, Murphy joked: “I’m very attached to it!”
Meanwhile, the first season of the new series welcomed by HBO, is currently in production, with the cast assembled in England to film the scenes. The adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone will be exploited during eight episodes.
As for the one who should not be appointed, the antagonist does not appear in the franchise before the highest point of the fourth book JK Rowling, Harry Potter and the Fire Cup.
For the casting of the show, Dominic McLaughlin will play Harry Potter, while Nick Frost was roped to play Hagrid. Additional members who joined include Arabella Stanton, Alastair Stout, John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, Paapa Essiedu and Katherine Parkinson, among others.
The Harry Potter series is expected to hit digital screens in early 2027.
