De De Pyaar De 2 final advance booking: Ajay Devgan, R Madhavan’s film sells 25,000 tickets less than national chains, set for single-digit start

De De Pyaar De 2 sold around 25,000 tickets on the first day across top national chains, PVR Inox and Cinepolis. Ticket sales remained at a low level, which is a matter of concern for the producers. Ajay Devgan’s latest release remains on the lines of the last advance booking of his previous release, Son of Sardaar 2. However, when compared to Raid 2, it lagged far behind.

It’s quite disappointing not to have an early crowd for such star-studded entertainment. The opening day figures of De De Pyaar De 2 now largely depend on its spot bookings and walk-in audiences. If the film is successful in receiving positive word-of-mouth, it will see a good growth in sales in the evening and night shows. Since the film will benefit from releasing on a national holiday, it should get some momentum.

Looking at the current trends and buzz, the film is heading towards a single digit opening. It is expected to get a low opening of around Rs 200 crore. 6 to 7 crores nett. Although the trailer received praise, the makers could not generate enough buzz with its other promotional materials.

One positive thing for De De Pyaar De 2 is that Ranveer Singh has no competition till Dhurandhar. The film will have a clean run for two weeks and will then face Tere Ishq Mein, which is not a threat at the moment. If the film receives favorable response, it is likely to score well in the long run.

For those unaware, De De Pyaar De 2 will serve as the sequel to the 2019 hit film De De Pyaar De. The original film had debuted at Rs. 8 crores and finally Rs. Rs 95 crore in his lifetime. Apart from Ajay Devgan, the film also stars Rakul Preet, R Madhavan, Meezaan Jaffrey, Javed Jaffrey, Gautami Kapoor and others. It will be interesting to see if the sequel will be able to surpass the original film’s figures and enter three figures.
