Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Hindi) collected Rs. Earned around Rs 6.50 crore on third Thursday and ended the third week with Rs. Around Rs 99 crore nett. Its total amount is only Rs. 900 crore net mark, which it will cross today. Apart from this, the film has collected Rs 10 crore. The South-dubbed versions grossed approximately Rs. 54 crores, taking the all-India total to Rs. Approximately Rs 953.50 crore nett.
The third week collection is the second highest ever after its predecessor Dhurandhar, which surprisingly collected Rs. Earning of Rs 162 crore last year. The next best is Pushpa 2 (Hindi) at Rs. 91.50 crore nett and cover Rs. 80 crores nett. The week-on-week decline from the second week was 57 percent, which is a good hold at this level of trading. That said, given that there was no competition with holiday support, it could have been a little better.
The sequel’s box office performance has been very different from the original. At first Dhurandhar started off slow, then gained momentum on weekdays and in the second week it started showing in record numbers. It was as if the second week served as the opening week for that film. In contrast, Dhurandhar: The Revenge opened with a bang, breaking all opening records and now settling into the traditional trend of a big film.
The film is a record grosser for any Hindi film in the entire Southern Circuit, East Punjab and Delhi-UP. Mumbai is also set to reach #1, which should happen over the weekend. These are the circuits operated by all the major metro centres, where the film has performed exceptionally well. Rajasthan may suffer a minor setback in this. Others will fall short of the record, some of them by very small margins. All of these would be records for a Bollywood film, placing it just behind Pushpa 2 (Hindi), except in West Bengal and Assam, where it would be behind Jawan.
Looking ahead, reaching Rs. 1000 crore nett, it will reach there, including all versions, although Hindi alone now appears challenging if not completely out of the question. If the third week is around Rs. 110 crore net, it would have been very easy. The film has another opening week, and even a few holidays to help, but it’s going to take a very strong hold to get back on track. Despite this, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is an all-time blockbuster. Although its footfall may not be at that level, the collections definitely are.
