Actress and environment activist Dia Mirza has once again expressed her support for the students protesting at Jantar Mantar, this time responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first public statement on the ongoing agitation over the alleged NEET paper leak.

A day after the Prime Minister shared a video message on social media addressing the issue, Dia took to Instagram to express her disappointment over his comments. In his video, PM Modi assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible for the alleged paper leak. However, his message did not include several issues that remain at the center of the protests, including students injured during the lathi charge, Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike and families who have reportedly lost their children during the current crisis.
Reacting to the Prime Minister’s statement, Dia Mirza shared a strongly worded note on Instagram, which read, “Not even a word of sympathy for the parents who have lost their children, for the children who have died, for the incredible resilience of the students demanding their rights, for Sonamji and the students who were on hunger strike for weeks. How hard can it be sir? It took you 47 days to say something. And now that you have said it, Nothing you have said can heal millions of broken hearts.”
The actress has been one of the most vocal members of the film fraternity in supporting the ongoing protests. Since the protests began, Dia has frequently used her social media platforms to raise students’ concerns, encourage peaceful democratic participation, and call for accountability from those in power.
His latest post also reiterates his support for education reform activist Sonam Wangchuk, whose long hunger strike has become one of the defining aspects of the movement.
