Umesh Shukla has been a popular name among the Gujarati audience for many years and has also gained nationwide popularity since 2012. This was the year when Oh my God, oh my God!An adaptation of his cult Gujarati play kanji vs kanjiWas made as a Bollywood film. Starring Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar, the devotional courtroom drama emerged as a sleeper superhit. Six years later, he created 102 not out (2018), an adaptation of the Gujarati play of the same name. The film adaptation starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor was also successful. And now, Umesh Shukla is all set to adapt another of his acclaimed plays on the big screen – madhuri vs dixit.

madhuri vs dixit It is a Hindi drama and it premiered on 26 April in Mumbai. Interestingly, it was earlier staged in Gujarati with the title Madhuri Dixit. It stars Riddhi Shukla and Vyas Hemang in lead roles. Interestingly, she is also the wife of Umesh Shukla. Unnati Gala and Harshad Patel are in supporting roles. Umesh Shukla has written the adapted screenplay and is one of the producers of the play along with Chetan Gandhi and Soumya Joshi. madhuri vs dixit as well as Madhuri Dixit Directed by Swapnil Barskar.
Special talk with Umesh Shukla IHNS And started by revealing the premiere experience. He said, “Paresh Rawal, Dilip Joshi and many others gave very positive video bytes. The premiere was yesterday fantastic. What show Was; It was electrifying!”
Umesh then confirmed that the script is in its final stages. When asked whether the film would have the same cast or different actors, he replied, “I plan to have mostly the same cast. I am planning to make it as a Gujarati film first and then I will see if I want to make it in Hindi. The other option is to make it bilingual in Hindi and Gujarati.” He also revealed, “This will be my first Gujarati film.”
Umesh Shukla further said, “We did 149 shows Madhuri Dixit In Gujarati. For the show’s historic 150th, we launch Hindi version madhuri vs dixit. Now, I will stage both the Hindi and Gujarati versions of the play parallelly. The Hindi version is much more intense.
It reminds me of a kanji vs kanjiWhich also had versions in many languages. Umesh Shukla confirmed, “Yes. In fact, it ran in three languages - kanji vs kanji in gujarati, Keshav Madhav and in Marathi Kishan vs Kanhaiya In Hindi.”
Will the name of the film also be ‘Madhuri vs Dixit’? Umesh Shukla replied, “Indeed. That will be the title of the film.”
Finally, when asked if famous actress Madhuri Dixit has seen the play, Umesh Shukla said, “She was busy shooting yesterday and could not attend the premiere. Our next show is on May 9 at ISKCON Auditorium, Mumbai. I will invite her again and I hope she can watch it this time. I am in touch with her team and she knows about the play.”
