EXCLUSIVE: Ayushmann Khurrana breaks silence on whether Bhediya vs Thamma will happen or not: ‘That was the biggest attraction…’

Ayushmann Khurrana is currently enjoying love and appreciation for his portrayal of Betaal in MHCU’s latest film, Thamma. In an exclusive masterclass with IHNS, Ayushmann opened up about both personal and professional aspects of his life. The Dream Girl actor described the success of Thamma as very important for him, as it expanded his fan base. He also highlighted how excited he is to meet other characters in the upcoming parts of MHCU.

The 41-year-old said that he has never performed such an action-block before what he did in Thamma and revealed how it is different from his other films. “I have never done this kind of action. Itni fantasy film maine kabhi nahi hai, maine always realistic films ki hai. (I have never done so much fantasy film, I have always done realistic films.) Because of Thamma, I am more comfortable with action now.”

The Andhadhun actor revealed what changes Thamma made for him. Talking about the love the action sequences of Bhediya vs Betal are getting, he said, “The love among kids has become more. Because, my old films were little, layered films. Thamma is a broad stroke film. Be it the fight sequences of Bhediya vs Betal… I think all the kids have loved it so I am happy that I have reached Gen Alpha.”

Additionally, the actor expressed his excitement for future parts of Maddock’s horror-comedy universe. He said, “The most exciting part will be when the different characters cross each other’s path. (The most exciting part will be when the different characters cross each other’s path.)”

Like every fan wishes, he also claimed that Bhediya vs Thamma deserves a separate film and said, “There should be Bhediya vs Thamma. It was the highlight of the film.” Then, he added, “Sarkata is a supervillain for me, sabse hagarak woh hai. Nawazuddin Siddiqui ke karchar ko utha ke le gaya. (He is the most dangerous. He took away Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s character.) And I really wanted to meet my brother Aparshakti, in some capacity, in MHCU’s future films.”

Let us tell you, Ayushmann Khurrana’s brother Aparshakti Khurana played the role of Bittu in Stree (2018) and Stree 2 (2024). Thamma is running in theaters and has become Ayushmann Khurrana’s 5th film to cross Rs. 100 crore club.
