Exclusive: Mrunal Thakur’s ‘b***s’ dialogue in Do Deewane Sehar Mein silenced twice by CBFC
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has passed the film with a U/A 13+ certificate. The cut list mentions that ‘obscene words have been muted and removed from the audio and subtitles.’ It has now been revealed that the word ‘b***s’ was used twice and has been muted both times. On both occasions, it is Mrunal Thakur’s character, Roshni, who utters the word.
In the first part, when Shashank (Siddhant Chaturvedi) says, “you have what i have not passRoshni playfully replied, “B***s?” Meanwhile, in the second part, during a crucial scene where Roshni criticizes the prevailing beauty standards, the same word is mentioned again.
Additionally, early in the film, Roshni complains that the man she met was not impressive and she uses derogatory terms to describe him. Since it is a mid-shot featuring Roshni and her family members, it is difficult to clearly ascertain which expletive was used.
Once these changes were made, the censor certificates were handed over to the manufacturers. The length of the film mentioned on the certificate is 137.41 minutes. In other words, two crazy people in the city is 2 hours, 17 minutes and 41 seconds long.
An industry insider commented, “Ideally, a film like this should have been passed with a ‘U’ certificate, especially after the two words are muted. There is no sexual content in the film, the kissing is mild and very brief, and the action sequences are comical in nature with no bloodshed. Hence, two crazy people in the city It’s a clean family entertainer and deserves a U/A 7+ rating, if not a ‘U’.’
