Parvathi Thiruvothu on what makes South cinema more adventurous than Bollywood
Speaking to IHNS, Parvathy Thiruvothu Said, “The art of storytelling is definite. I think regional cinema has the potential to tell a much braver story than mainstream cinema. It’s strange that in mainstream cinema, there is a culture where they say they can’t be brave because of money, but having money can make you brave.”

Parvathy further added, “I personally feel that we have to look at certain things like the educational process. As soon as I feel a lot about it, my work is done. I would say that it is amazing when we see a huge audience for such films. It is a mirror of our society towards which we have closed our eyes. Why are we shocked when there is an audience for problematic films, it is in our culture. While we say that our Indian culture ‘Great’, we have to accept that this is also part of it.”
The actress further added, “In our culture, many things can be true at the same time. I think it’s a moment of reflection and a moment where we as an audience can demand better and the audience can demand better. They can scream and say, ‘Now, I think you’re feeding us bullshit. Please don’t do that.’ The only power in his hands is to not watch such films because I cannot hold his hand and make him do so.
In conclusion, Charlie The actress mentioned that even if one makes a problematic film and earns a huge amount, one should also make something meaningful from that profit.
