Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal are back in the news following the internet buzz on Hera Pheri 3. Now, director Priyadarshan gave an exclusive interview to IHNS, revealing new details on the film to come.

Speaking with IHNS, the director Priyadarshan revealed how he did not want to alter the heritage of the franchise and will try to make a third episode only if it can be completely cracked the story.

Depending on her words, “I cannot say if I do the third part, unless and until I can break a film which must do justice to the first episode. The first part was born, but the third should not let it die. If I make the film, I must make sure that it is tolerable for the people who watched the first part.”

Unless and until I crack the full film, I will never try the third part. If a good scenario does not reveal itself to my conviction, I will not make the film. I climbed certain peaks in my career where I don’t want to fall badly, “added Priyadarshan.

More details on the Hera Pheri franchise

Hera Pheri is a comedy film in Hindi which was released in 2000. The film, with Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal, was a remake of the film Malayalam Ramji Rao Speaking (1989), which itself was inspired by the American television film See the Man Run (1971).

The film revolves around the story of two young people, Raju and Shyam, and their owner, Baburao Ganpatrao Apt, who desperately needs money. However, their lives takes an unexpected turn when a crossed ransom call changes everything, which led them to develop a plan to become rich.

Over the years, the film has reached a cult status in Bollywood pop culture and is often considered one of the greatest comedies ever made. After the success of the first episode, a suite entitled Phir Hera Pheri was published, produced by the late Neeraj Vora.

Now, a third episode entitled Hera Pheri 3 is expected, Priyadarshan returning to the franchise to direct it.
