Priyadarshan is coming with another horror-comedy film Bhoot Bangla. This film is special as it marks her reunion with Akshay Kumar after 14 years. While he is excited for its release, the filmmaker also recalled the mistakes he made in his previous projects, especially the Irrfan Khan-led drama film, Billu Barber. Speaking to IHNS, the director admitted to including a lot of songs in the film. He also talked about portraying Shah Rukh Khan as a star in the 2009 film. read on!

During an exclusive chat with IHNS, a fan asked filmmaker Priyadarshan how difficult or easy it was for him to feature Shah Rukh Khan as a superstar in the Irrfan Khan-led Billu Barber. Without wasting even a minute the director said that you don’t have to do anything. He said, “Just call Shahrukh Khan a star. No one can question him. So, I didn’t need to do anything in the script.”

Priyadarshan said, “I made only one mistake in the film. I put in a lot of songs which I shouldn’t have. So, the script became a little loose.” He told that it was one of the most tearful situations of Indian cinema, but it did not happen as expected.
Priyadarshan’s haunted bungalow
Priyadarshan’s next film is Bhoot Bangla with Akshay Kumar. The teaser of the upcoming film has just been released, and it is a riot of laughs. Apart from Akki, the horror-comedy also stars Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Vamika Gabbi, Manoj Joshi, Mithila Palkar and others. It is scheduled for theatrical release on April 10, 2026.
