A source confirmed that the title change is linked to the current diplomatic sensitivities surrounding India and China. “Salman Khan was advised by some official and strategic circles to not only reconsider the title of the film but also tone down the anti-China portions. Taking that feedback seriously, Salman decided to align the film with the larger national mood and maintain the broader sensitivity of the subject. As a result, the title was changed and a large portion was reworked, fictionalizing the conflict,” the source shared.

The source further added that the film’s budget increased due to reshoots, although Salman was reportedly not bothered by the additional cost. The source further added, “A significant portion of the script has been rewritten to make the film a more emotionally charged patriotic saga. Changes also followed input from relevant circles, and the new version is said to explore a more intimate dynamic between Salman Khan and Chitrangada’s characters. Now at its core, this is the story of an army officer who balances love amidst conflict in many ways, it is real love and war.”

The film will now be released between July and October, depending on the Defense Ministry’s approval of the new version. While a major portion of the shooting has been completed, some patch work may take place over the summer.
