When asked whether Mahavatar has been postponed, Amar Kaushik replied, “Yes. Preparations have been going on for 6-7 months.” I’m scared just thinking about itWe worked on set design, weapon design, how each character would look, etc. Scripting is done. Still, we need more time. Vicky will complete his remaining commitments and after that he will also start his preparations. So, we hope to start shooting by the middle of next year.”
Amar Kaushik further added, “For me, this is a huge passion project. When I was in school in Arunachal Pradesh, there used to be a Parashuram Kund nearby. I used to ask my mother who Parashuram was, but I was told not to talk much about it. All I was told was that he was quite hot-tempered. So, I was quite thrilled with the character. When I learned about it later in life, When I read it, I was amazed and kept thinking, ‘Will I ever be able to do this?’ Will I be able to make a film on this subject?’ Now, I have reached the level where I have the understanding and experience of using VFX. “That gave me the confidence to get it done.”
The timing is opportune as Amar has just delivered woman 2 (2024), the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time. Did this also give Dinesh Vijan the confidence to hand over such a big responsibility to Amar Kaushik? Amar replied, “Yes, it always happens. If you have not proven yourself, why would anyone entrust you with such a responsibility?” If you have big dreams then dream small complete first (Smile).
