In the early hours of Friday, around 4:30 pm, two shots were allegedly thrown out of the residence of Bollywood actress Disha Patani located in Bareilly’s civil lines. The firing was reportedly an aerial discharge; No one was injured during the incident.

Officials believe that the firing was done in response to the alleged comments made by Trisha Patani regarding Hindu spiritual leaders Premanand Maharaj and Anirudharya Maharaj. A group affiliated to Goldie Brar claimed responsibility for firing.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Bareilly, Anurag Arya told India today, “Immediately, a team from local police and special operations group (SOG) reached home and started investigation. At least five teams have been formed to catch the accused. Adequate number of security personnel have been deployed to ensure safety of family members.”
A social media post (in Hindi) came out shortly after the incident, two persons were named Virendra Charan (of Rohit Godara Group) and Mahendra Saran as criminals. Translated into English wrote, “Jai Shri Ram, Ram Ram to all brothers. I, Virendra Charan, Mahendra Saran (Delna) Ji Maharaj). Be prepared to face the results.
The police have not yet verified the authenticity of social media posts. Meanwhile, investigation is on. Although Disha Patani and her sister Khushbu Patani had previously criticized spiritual leader Anirudhacharya for their comment on women and live-in relationships, they are under investigation into the relationship between the comments and the attack.
