According to a report by NDTV, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued summons to former Trinmool MPs and actor Mimi Chakraborty and Urvashi Rautela, which is in relation to their investigation in alleged illegal operations of online betting platform 1xbet, according to a NDTV report.

Chakraborty has been asked to appear at the ED’s Delhi headquarters on Monday, while Rautela is to report a day later on Tuesday.
This development is part of the ongoing investigation in several betting apps, accusing a large number of people and investors worth crores of rupees, and allegedly developed adequate taxes.
In particular, Chakraborty is expected to be questioned about his alleged connection with 1xbet, which is subject to investigation for potential money laundering and tax evasion. ED investigators have already questioned several actors and cricketers regarding the case including cricketer Suresh Raina.
Meanwhile, government sources say that the real money has been subject to increasing the market regulatory pressure for online gaming and betting. The central government has recently introduced laws banning such gaming, while it tells Parliament that between 2022 and June 2025, it issued 1,524 orders to block online gambling and betting platforms.
Analysts estimate that various online betting apps have around 22 crore Indian users, of which about half of which are regular users. They say that the value of the region is more than USD 100 billion, which is growing at a rate of about 30% annually.
