Gustakh Ishq: Kuch Tak had a poor opening weekend. The romantic drama starring Vijay Verma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sharib Hashmi and Naseeruddin Shah is available for just Rs. 1.25 crore in 3 days of theatrical run. The film, directed by Vibhu Puri, started its journey at the box office with Rs. 50 lakh on the first day, after which there were problems on Saturday and Sunday. Ideally, a film remains flat or registers nominal growth over the weekend, if not anything major. However, the constant drops of Gustakh Ishq have almost sealed its fate. It earned Rs. Collected. 45 lakhs on the second day, followed by another low of Rs. 30 lakhs on the third day.
However the film was never one that could be predicted to do any significant business at the box office. However, its positive hype on the first day promised some kind of growth over the weekend. Gustakh love is expected to decline further on Monday also. As of now, its box office trends suggest a lifetime gross of under Rs. 2 Crore to Rs. 2.50 crore nett, which would be a disastrous result. Still, if the film manages to gain some kind of traction in the long run, it could add another crore to the film’s earnings, although this Friday will have an important release, Dhurandhar.
Popular fashion designer Manish Malhotra’s debut film as a producer, Gustakh Ishq: Kuch Pehle is a romantic drama that tells the story of a young man who visits a veteran poet to learn poetry. Meanwhile, he falls in love with the poet’s daughter. The name of this film was earlier Ul Jalul Ishq.
