The media’s recently acquired tendency to jump the gun and murder celebrities for the sake of headlines reached a new level of ridiculousness when everyone’s favorite Dharmendra was declared dead by multiple portals on Tuesday morning.
Hema Malini points out that Dharmendra has been trapped in a fake death report on Wikipedia and says, “We request you to find some other way of entertainment”.
When this writer talked to Hema Malini ji, she got angry. “How can they do this? How can the media be so irresponsible? This is absolutely outrageous. Please show some respect to our family.”
She also wondered who was spreading such worrying false news. “Even Wikipedia has fallen prey to this. Who are these so-called sources spreading fake news? We request you to find some other way to entertain yourself.”
Troubled by Dharamji’s health as well as the lie, Hemaji said, “We are humans first, celebrities second. Please don’t consider us just a target for headlines.”
Rakhi Gulzar, who was recently targeted for similar misleading death reports, said, “Who would want Dharamji to die? May he live for a hundred years or more. When I was declared dead, I could laugh at the lies. But that is not entertaining for the family.”
