Amala Akkineni was last seen in the Hindi language film Tumse Na Ho Payega and since then she has largely been away from the limelight. After the wedding of her sons, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni, the actress recently opened up about her relationship with her daughters-in-law, Shobhita Dhulipala and Zainab Rawadji.

In a conversation with YouTube channel Aval Vikatan, Amala Akkineni reflected on her role as mother-in-law to Shobhita Dhulipala and Zainab Rawadji. “I have amazing daughters-in-law. They’re delightful, they help me live again, and I have a bunch of girls,” the veteran actress shared.
“They are very busy, but that’s good, because young people have exciting lives. It’s great to be busy. But when I get a few moments with them, we enjoy. I am not a needy mother-in-law, nor am I a needy wife,” she adds.
Amala also spoke about her sons, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni, and her role as a mother, “They have grown up to be wonderful. He has a lot of respect for Naga sir; he is very affectionate towards him. As far as I am concerned, I am an ordinary parent.”
For those unaware, Nagarjuna Akkineni was first married to Lakshmi Daggubati in 1984. The couple ended their marriage in 1990, but continued to co-parent their only son, Naga Chaitanya. Nagarjuna later married actress Amala Akkineni in 1992, and they have a son, Akhil Akkineni.

Naga Chaitanya and actress Shobhita Dhulipala tied the knot in an intimate ceremony held in Hyderabad in 2024. The happy occasion was attended by many celebrities from the Telugu film industry who came to bless the newly married couple.
After his brother, Akhil Akkineni married Zainab Rawadji in 2025. Zainab is a Mumbai-based artist and entrepreneur, hailing from a family of successful businessmen.

Amala Akkineni was last seen in an important role in the Hindi-language comedy-drama Tumse Na Ho Payega. Directed by Abhishek Sinha and written by Nitish Tiwari, the film stars Ishwak Singh, Mahima Makwana and Gaurav Pandey in lead roles.
The film was released directly on JioHotstar (formerly Disney+Hotstar) on September 29, 2023 and received mixed to positive reviews.
