IHNS Prediction: First Day Box Office Forecast of Masti 4, 120 Bahadur and Gustak Ishq

First Day Box Office Prediction: Rs. 1.5-3.5 crores

The Masti franchise shocked the business in 2013 with a big hit, Grand Masti, which grossed Rs. 12 crore nett, approximately Rs. Earning Rs 25 crore today. Around the same time, adult comedies like Kya Super Kool Hain Hum also performed well.

However, since then, the style has waned. In 2016, Great Grand Masti flopped and in the same year, Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 and Mastizaade also flopped. The teaser of Masti 4 does not inspire much confidence, and the production also looks quite cheap. It will be difficult for the film to overcome these factors.

War/military based films rarely perform well at the box office. The ones that work are the ones that combine mass appeal, strong star power or a sense of patriotism with real-life relevance. The two standout hits in the genre are Border and Uri, the former had comprehensive treatment and tremendous star value, while the latter was based on more current events like the 2016 surgical strike, which added a curiosity factor.

From the teaser/trailer, 120 Bahadur looks like a well-made film, but it doesn’t have much entry value. Without a strong hook or lead star, it will rely heavily on audience word-of-mouth to pick up momentum post-release.
