Since the film has been certified by CBFC, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) has requested India’s Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to intervene in the matter and help the film’s release facility in West Bengal.

Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) has written a letter to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, who is demanding their intervention to issue Bengal files In West Bengal. Immediate action has been requested to ensure the release of the film in the state. Since the film has already received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for a public exhibition, it should be allowed to be released in West Bengal so that the rule of law is intact and certified works of art can be displayed independently and safely across the country.
The IMPPA has further stated that producers and distributors are facing intimidation and obstacles, while the state government has failed to ensure the basic security and law-order environment required for the film’s independent and fair release.
Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri took the letter on his social media and wrote the letter from Imppa and wrote – “Indian Motion Picture Producers Association is strongly in support of #Thebengalfiles and writes to @PMOIndia @narendramodi to interfere against illegal and unaccounted restrictions of West Bengel Government.”
Bengal files Vivek Ranjan is written and directed by Agnihotri and is produced by Abhishek Aggarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri. Film, Vivek’s files presented by Tej Narayan Aggarwal and IM Buddha Productions are part of the trilogy, which includes Kashmir files And Tashkent filesThe film was released in theaters on 5 September 2025.
