Jana Nayakan starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role was initially scheduled to release on January 9, 2026, coinciding with Pongal. However, as the film faced delays as the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has not yet granted certification, the matter has been taken to the judicial level.
Now, during a recent session in the Madras High Court, the CBFC revealed that a final decision has not yet been taken by the Board Chairman on the certification of the film. Additionally, the Board stated that the 14 cuts it had sought were merely an “arbitrary” decision.
