Jio Studios’ made an impression on the global stage with the official selection of three of its upcoming films, Gambler, Sali love And Ban tikki At the prestigious 16th Chicago South Asian Film Festival (CSAFF).
Jio Studios to showcase three different films – Gamasan, Sal Mohabbat and Ban Tikki – 16th Chicago at South Asian Film Festival
Films will be painted in a particularly curated section in ‘India to the world’. This section brings together three different -style films, which, when seen together, provide a texture and leveled image of India. From their deep rural roots to the complexities of their cities, these films reflect the huge spectrum of Indian ethos, flexibility and developed identity.
From 18-21, 2025 to September, this festival will be watched by Jio STUDIOS movies in Spotlights in Prime Slots.
Opening Night (19 September) Sal Mohabbat: This powerful drama is the first film directed by Tisca Chopra, which is a film that comes out on the shifting border between rural and urban India, where a small -town female rehearsed against the background of domestic violence and betrayal. Pahanwa artists include Radhika Apte, Ansuman Pushkar, Dibendu Ganguly and Anurag Kashyap. Sali love Jyoti is produced by Deshpande and marks the production debut of the famous fashion stylist-producer Manish Malhotra.
Centerpiece Film (20 September) Gamson: Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Tigmansshu Dhulia, Gambler A stressful rural thriller takes us to the heart land of the country who speaks for the roots of India and the rise of a young nation is still interacting with its past. The film includes Pratik Gandhi, Arshad Warsi and Ishita Dutta in the brilliant roles. Gambler Jyoti is produced by Deshpande, Piyush Singh, Ashwini Chaudhary, Abhiyanand Singh and Saurabh Gupta.
Marki Film (21 September) Ban Tikki: This poignant drama takes us to urban India, who captures the illusion, tenderness and calm courage of a small child and the people around him, as they struggle with the questions of identity. The film stars Abhay Deol and Shabana Azmi and Zeenat Aman along with Nasharat Bharucha and Rohan Singh were included in legends. Built by Jyoti Deshpande, Dinesh Malhotra, Marijke Desaosa and Manish Malhotra, Ban tikki Apart from this, the director also marks the feature film debut of Faraz Arif Ansari.
