Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made their romance official a few weeks ago, and the news came as a splash to their fans. The singer recently came out of a long-term relationship with her boyfriend Orlando Bloom, while the politician separated from his wife less than two years ago. Now, the latter’s partner, public speaker Sophie Gregoire, has broken her silence on the new couple by appearing on the Arlene Is Alone podcast.

Speaking to host Arlene Dickinson, Sophie Gregoire explained how, despite looking good on the surface, rumors get to her behind the scenes. “We are all human and things affect us,” however, she said she has learned to deal with it and advises everyone to do the same. “How you react to things is your decision. So I chose to try listening to music instead of noise,” he said, sharing that such reactions are normal.
Reflecting on the end of her long-running relationship with the country’s former first man, she said, “I’m well aware that a lot of public stuff can be triggering; we’re human. What I do with it is my decision. The woman I want to become through this is my decision.” This whole experience has been as eye-opening as it has been for any of us. “Does this mean I don’t have emotions? That I don’t cry, scream, laugh? No!”
Speaking about her ex-husband and where they stand at the moment, she further added, “We have different lives, but our family life is one. And I think we need two people in a couple…to compromise.” They’re taking it one step at a time, describing it as ‘not easy, but very adult.’
Justin Trudeau and Sophie Grégoire were married from 2005 to 2023, and have three children, including Xavier, 18, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrian, 11. Meanwhile, Katy Perry has a daughter named Daisy Dove Bloom, whom she and Orlando Bloom welcomed in August 2020.
