Kantara Chapter 1 had a very good third week at the Indian box office and collected Rs. Approximately 85 crores. This marks a drop of nearly 50 percent compared to the second week, which is a strong hold considering the film faced a number of new releases last week. Total earnings after three weeks of release were Rs. 639 crores.
Also the film has earned Rs 10 crore. It grossed ₹109 crore (USD 12.25 million) internationally, taking its total worldwide box office collection to Rs. 748 crores.

The film benefited from the Diwali holidays and business remained high during the weekdays. The film is now out of the holiday period, business is back to normal in South India tomorrow. In the North, there was some increase in holidays there also yesterday, the Hindi version held very well. From today, the situation will largely return to normal across the board, barring some minor relief here and there.
This film is poised to become the highest grossing film of this year by surpassing Chhaava. It has a chance to hit Rs. The Rs 700 crore figure, however, will depend on the traction in the coming weeks, especially the fourth week.
