Kantara: Chapter 1 (Hindi) is holding well at the box office in its third week. The mythological epic saga added Rs. Despite a huge drop in the performance of this week’s new releases Thamma and Ek Deewane Ki Diwaniyat, its earnings crossed 4 crores on the third Tuesday. Discounted ticket prices also helped the film as it recorded a 30 percent increase compared to the third Monday. Compared to last Tuesday, the decline is about 48 percent.
Its third week’s total earnings were Rs. 19 crore nett. With two more days to go, the film is expected to make Rs. 50,000 in its third week. 25 crores nett. Kantara: Chapter 1’s running total is now Rs. Earning Rs 173 crore at Hindi box office. The film still has a chance to cross Rs 1 crore. 200 crore nett figure in Hindi, however, will largely depend on how it performs in the next five days.
The film may not have performed as well as other South Indian sequels like Baahubali 2, KGF Chapter 2 and Pushpa 2, but it still performed impressively. The Rishabh Shetty starrer has left behind the Hindi earnings of Raid 2, Sitare Zameen Par, Housefull 5, Mahavatar Narasimha and War 2 so far. It is now the third highest-grossing film in Hindi after Chhaava and Saiyaara.
