Late industrialist Sujay Kapoor’s huge Rs. But the fight for succession. Presented by senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, brothers and sisters have challenged an alleged desire that has come out seven weeks after his father’s death, despite earlier assurances that there will be no such existence.
Karishma Kapoor got Suzay Kapoor’s Rs. Dispute of assets worth 30,000 crores
The center of the dispute lies in March 2025, which allegedly leaves Kapoor’s third wife Priya Sachdev Kapoor. However, the document has neither been registered nor probated, and the children’s legal team has accused them of repression and forgery. The Delhi High Court has directed the disclosure of the alleged desire on June 12, 2025, giving full details of Suzay Kapoor’s assets.
Jethmalani clarified that the matter is not about monetary benefits from the RK Parivar Trust, but about ensuring proper heritage for children. He insisted, “This is about achieving the litigation of Sujay Kapoor’s children and ensuring proper access to the assets held in India and abroad.”
The court also heard the claims of Priya Sachdev Kapoor’s lawyer that children already got Rs. 1,900 crores through RK Family Trust. The formula, however, shows that the gold within the trust still reflects the value of the comstar shares, which has no control over the children. The actual access to these assets remains with Priya Sachdev Kapoor.
Jethmalani underlined the imbalance, given that even though Rs. 1,900 crore mark is accepted, Rs. 28,000 crore rupees are under Priya’s control. “Will he be a good part of that fate? Somebody has to understand that this litigation is to ensure all five classes 1 heirs, including two children of Karishma and Sunjay Kapoor, proper access to their assets,” he argued.
So far, Karishma Kapoor’s children have not been provided a copy of the will, nor the clarity on her father’s personal property. The unfolding legal battle has led to widespread questions about children’s rights in transparency, fairness and high-profile inheritance disputes.
