Keertan Nadegowda, co-director of the Yash-starrer KGF franchise, is battling a heartbreaking tragedy after the demise of his four-year-old son on December 15, 2025. Son of film producer, Chiranjeevi Sonarash K. Nadagowda, lost his life after being involved in a lift accident.
Kirtan Nadegowda’s 4 year old son died
According to a report in Kannada Prabha, Kirtan Nadagowda and his wife Samriddhi Patel lost their son after the child got trapped inside the lift. Despite several attempts to save the four-year-old child, efforts went in vain and he could not be saved in time.
Reportedly, family members and close friends described the child as lively and cheerful. The sudden death of the child has left a deep void in the lives of his parents.
As soon as this news spread, condolences started being expressed from the film industry and the political field. Actors, technicians and well-wishers shared messages of support in solidarity with the grieving parents.

Keerthan Nadagowda is a filmmaker who predominantly works in Kannada cinema. He is known for his participation in films like KGF: Chapter 1, KGF: Chapter 2 and Prabhas’s Salaar.
He worked as a second unit director and assistant director under Prashant Neel on several blockbuster projects. Nadagowda gained significant attention in Kannada cinema after his contributions to Yash-starrer films.
Earlier, in November 2025, Nadagowda had announced his directorial debut with leading Telugu production house Mythri Movie Makers. The film, being produced in collaboration with Prashanth Neel, is a horror film and was announced with a puja ceremony video.
Although further details about the project have not been revealed yet, the film stars Surya Raj, Hanu Reddy and Preeti Pagdala in the lead roles. Dinesh Divakaran will serve as cinematographer. However, since the shooting has not started yet, it is uncertain when the director will return to work.
