With the return of Kapil Sharma on the big screen, ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ has finally released in theaters today. However, the film could not do anything special on its opening day. As predicted by IHNS, the comedy drama took off with an opening of just Rs. According to estimates, net Rs 1.75 crore. Serving as the sequel to the successful 2015 comedy film, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, it suffered majorly due to the lack of awareness among the audience and Ranveer Singh’s sensational performance as Dhurandhar. Furthermore, the promotional material, be it the trailer or the songs, could not generate much interest among the audience.
However, there are some chances that the film may see some growth over the weekend and then register good earnings at the box office, so that its final tally can reach a reasonable level. Based on current trends, it is expected to make its first weekend at around Rs. 4.75 crore to Rs. 6 crores nett. The lifetime target of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 will depend on how it fares on weekdays.
Not only will Kapil Sharma’s film face the wrath of Dhurandhar but Avatar: Fire and Ash is also all set to hit the screens from coming Friday. The film received mixed reception from the audience, which is another matter of concern for the producers. If the film had started with great word-of-mouth, it might have had some chances in the long run.
